Designed to allow HDMI devices to be plugged into DVI connections such as a HDMI monitor to a computer or projector with a DVI connection, etc. The DVI connection is male and the HDMI connection is female. To allow optimal quality of signal transmission, all of the connections are coated with 24K gold. High Definition (HD) video signals up to a resolution of 1080p is supported. This adapter is also backward compatible with lower resolution video signals. The adapter / converter also has two screws on the outside of the case to allow the adapter to be screwed into place to keep a secure and stable connection.

While this converter / adapter will allow HDMI to connect to a DVI connection, this adapter will only allow a video signal to be transmitted as DVI was not designed to support audio signals.
